She was born to Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. In 2012, she became the second woman ever to win the So You Think You Are Funny award. The surname she uses is Bea to honor her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan is an Kildare woman who was born in Kildare. Her birth date was the 16th of March, 1984. Her father Brian was a veterinarian who worked with horses that committed suicide aged three. However, she did not learn the cause of her death until thirteen years later. In 2017, she composed an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family and took on the stage name Bea in tribute.
